Eyelash Extensions!? My thoughts on Silk Lashes!

Hello hello everyone!

I know, i was MIA on Tuesday, the day after Halloween! I had a few clients on Halloween, and then spent the next day which was a public holiday, with my partner and our fur baby! I will be uploading some photos of the Halloween looks i did, so stay tuned!

Today i thought i would write about eyelash extensions! I had my first set done exactly 2 weeks ago from today, and i wanted to write about what i think of them!

Now, i have pretty short lashes, as you guys would have seen already in my Too Faced Mascara review! They are so tiny, so i need any length and volume i can get!

I was really excited about getting my lashes done, and although i have heard some bad things about them, i wanted to give them a go anyway!

I have heard that they can cause your natural eyelashes to fall out, which terrified me, but if that happens, they will eventually grow back and lesson learnt!

It look around 2 hours to get my lashes done, and for me it was so relaxing! My mother in law has since tried but HATED the way the bottom eyelashes need to be sticky taped down, she couldn't handle it and gave up!

It does feel strange, though i quickly got used to the feeling and almost fell asleep. It is so tempting to open your eyes during it though!

Although it was a relaxing time, as you guys would know, my left eye LOVES to constantly water, so while getting my lashes done this was no exception!

My eye wasnt irritated at all, but it would not stop watering, and i mean REALLY watering, NON STOP!

In my head i expected them to be really full on heavy lashes, though it really wasnt the case! Once i was done, i opened my eyes and i couldn't feel a thing, they are so light! I went with the 'Silk' lashes, which are lightweight and soft!

I am SO happy with the way they look, and while they look natural, you can still see i have long lashes, which is AMAZING. They are not dramatic, and are soo beautiful! I chose the more natural style, as i have quite small eyes i didn't want the lashes to droop my eyes or make them smaller. You can definitely go more dramatic though!

I have had them on for about 2 weeks now, and they are supposed to last around 3-4 weeks. Mine are still going strong with only a few that have fallen out.

I will say though, they make my eyes REALLY itchy. A majority of the time its a night, and as soon as i itch it, it makes it SO much worse. So i have to avoid itching my eyes at all costs, because i cant even explain how itchy they get.

Also sometimes i have to adjust my sleeping position, to make sure i am not pushing on them, how dramatic i know! But if i push on them, they can hurt, plus i want them for as long as possible!

I have read that you aren't supposed to use mascara on them, unless you purchase the mascara that is meant for eyelash extensions. I am tempted to put mascara on them, but i really don't need it! I have not worn mascara once since ive had them done and it saves SO much time when doing my makeup! I can see this becoming an excuse for me to get them done again because im 'saving' money not having t purchase mascara! LOL! They roughly cost from around $60 upwards, so i guess it doesn't really work out cheaper if you get them done every 4 weeks, eeek!

I will do an update once they have completely worn off, but so far, i am LOVING them!

I completely understand how people can get addicted to them!

^Here is a before photo from my Too Faced Better than False Lashes Mascara review, which i have on a fibre mascara on and they are still so short!

^With lash extensions!

Without makeup!

I do think they are worth the money, maybe not over $80 though, i just cant justify spending that much and having them only last 3-4 weeks! I think they are PERFECT for a wedding, as they are so beautiful and natural!

Have you tried eyelash extensions? What were your thoughts?

Thank you for reading!
